What is the difference between SideShift and Markapping?
SideShift is software for hiring and managing UGC creators. You find creators, agree on a base fee and an optional view bonus, approve the work, and pay through SideShift. Markapping runs one open campaign for your app: creators post on their own TikTok or Reels account and earn only for counted views, at the rate you set.
SideShift charges a monthly subscription, and creator payments are separate from it. Markapping has no monthly plan at launch: you pay a campaign budget from $500 plus a 10% platform fee, once, and unspent budget comes back as a refund or credit.
This page is about sideshift.app, the creator platform for brands. Do not confuse it with SideShift AI, which AlternativeTo lists as a cryptocurrency exchange. That is a different service.
How do SideShift and Markapping compare side by side?
SideShift is a live creator-management suite for any brand, on four platforms, priced by subscription. Markapping is narrower: mobile apps only, TikTok and Instagram Reels only, paid per counted view, priced per campaign. The SideShift column comes from SideShift's own pages, checked Oct 18, 2026. The Markapping column is how it will work at launch.

How much does SideShift cost in October 2026?
As of October 18, 2026, SideShift's brand plans cost $299, $499 or $999 a month on monthly billing, or $210, $349 or $699 a month billed yearly. Monthly plans come with a 14-day free trial. Creator payments are separate from the subscription, and SideShift tells brands to review any payment-processing charges.
| SideShift plan | Monthly billing | Yearly billing | Creator spend SideShift recommends | Creators live at once |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $299/mo | $210/mo ($2,520 a year) | $2,000-$5,000/mo | 15 |

| Scale | $999/mo | $699/mo ($8,388 a year) | $10,000+/mo | Unlimited |
Older prices still circulate: a LaunchPoint review dated July 2026 lists $199, $299 and $999. SideShift's managed service starts at a $20,000 monthly campaign budget.
Where is SideShift the better choice?
SideShift is the better pick if you want to choose each creator yourself, need YouTube or Facebook, or want video files you can run as ads. It is also live today, and Markapping is not. If you are buying ad creatives rather than organic views, SideShift is built for that job.
- Hand-picking creators. Review profiles and past work, save a shortlist, and invite creators to your campaign.
- More platforms. YouTube and Facebook too. Markapping covers TikTok and Instagram Reels only.
- Ad creatives with usage rights. Usage rights for organic and paid content are in every contract, and SideShift says you keep them after you cancel.
- No cut from creators. SideShift says it charges brands, not creators. Markapping keeps 5% of creator earnings.
- High monthly spend. Above about $3,000 a month of creator pay, the $299 Starter plan costs less than a 10% fee.
- API and affiliate programs. Every plan includes API and MCP access, and there are affiliate and ambassador use cases.
- A track record. It publishes results from companies such as GPTZero and Picsart on its tech and SaaS page. SideShift notes that results vary by campaign. Markapping has no campaigns yet.
Where does Markapping fit better?
Markapping fits app owners who want to pay only when videos are watched, and who don't want a monthly bill between campaigns. You set one rate per 1,000 views, open the campaign, and the creators who join post on their own accounts. A video that gets few views costs little.
- No subscription at launch. Nothing is charged in months you don't run a campaign.
- Views, not videos. No base fee per video. Earnings are counted views / 1,000 x your rate, up to the limits you set.
- Built for apps. Ownership is verified through App Store Connect or Google Play Console. Optional bonuses pay for installs, trials or paid subscriptions. Analytics show spend, counted views, top videos, and an install-lift figure labeled as an estimate.
- Own accounts, label on. Creators post on their own account with the paid partnership or branded content label on. Videos without it don't count.
- Fraud review included. Every video gets a fake-view check and a 3-day team review. Suspicious videos are held and a person makes the final call.
- Written rules. You can reject a video only for breaking a rule written in the campaign, naming the rule and the reason.

What does the same budget buy on each?
Example: $2,000 for creators in one month. On SideShift's Starter plan with monthly billing, you pay $299 for the software plus the $2,000 you agree with creators, $2,299 before any processing charges. On Markapping you pay $2,000 plus the 10% fee, $2,200, and the budget buys up to 2,000,000 counted views at $1.00 per 1K.
| SideShift Starter (monthly) | Markapping | |
|---|---|---|
| Platform cost | $299 subscription | $200 (10% of $2,000) |
| Total for the month | $2,299 | $2,200 |
| What the $2,000 pays for | Videos at the terms you agree. SideShift reports a median of $7 to $9 a video (last 90 days) | Up to 2,000,000 counted views at $1.00 per 1K, or 1,000,000 at $2.00 per 1K |
| If videos get few views | You still pay the agreed terms for approved work | Only counted views; unspent budget is refunded or kept as credit (the 10% fee is not refunded) |
| Next month, no campaign | $299 while the plan is active | $0 |
At larger budgets the math flips. A 10% fee grows with spend, while a plan price stays flat:
| Creator budget per month | SideShift plan it recommends | SideShift cost | Markapping fee (10%) |
|---|---|---|---|
| $500 | Below Starter's range | $299 | $50 |
| $2,000 | Starter | $299 | $200 |
| $5,000 | Starter or Growth | $299-$499 | $500 |
| $10,000 | Growth or Scale | $499-$999 | $1,000 |
Against Starter, the break-even is $2,990 of creator budget a month. Below it, Markapping's fee is lower. Above it, SideShift's plan costs less, though you then pick and brief each creator yourself. All Markapping fees are on the pricing page.
- Buys up to
- You pay (with 10% fee)
- $5,500
Minimum budget $500, minimum rate $1.00 per 1,000 views. Install, trial or subscription bonuses are not included here. Payment processing fees, if any, are shown before you pay.

Questions
How much does SideShift cost?
As of October 18, 2026, SideShift's brand plans are Starter $299, Growth $499 and Scale $999 a month on monthly billing, or $210, $349 and $699 a month billed yearly. Creator payments are extra. Monthly plans have a 14-day free trial.
Is there a SideShift alternative without a monthly subscription?
Markapping, opening soon, has no subscription or monthly plan at launch. App owners pay a campaign budget from $500 plus a 10% platform fee, once per campaign, and creators earn per 1,000 counted views on TikTok and Instagram Reels. Unspent budget comes back as a refund or credit.
Is Markapping cheaper than SideShift?
At small budgets, usually. On $2,000 of creator pay, Markapping's fee is $200 against SideShift Starter's $299 a month. Above about $3,000 a month, SideShift's flat plan costs less than a 10% fee. Markapping also pays only for counted views.
Can I hand-pick creators on Markapping like on SideShift?
Partly. Each campaign is open to everyone, by application, or invite-only, and you can review each video or approve them automatically. SideShift is built around searching, shortlisting and hiring individual creators, so it gives you more control over exactly who makes your content.
Does SideShift take a cut from creators?
SideShift says it charges brands, not creators, and mentions small fees on bank withdrawals. Markapping is free for creators to join and keeps 5% of their earnings, so a creator who earns $100 keeps $95.
Is Markapping live?
No. Markapping is opening soon, and app owners and creators can join separate waitlists now. It runs in the browser on a phone or computer, with no app to install. SideShift is live today.
